About

Edward J. Morton, PhD

Dr. Edward Morton began his career in medical X-ray imaging through research appointments in both the UK and the USA. Upon returning to the UK, he spent over a decade at the University of Surrey, where he built and led a research team focused on radiation transport modelling, detection systems, X-ray source design, and advanced imaging techniques. This body of work led to the founding of a company dedicated to commercialising Real-Time Tomographic X-ray imaging—now an approved technology for automated explosives detection in the aviation sector. Following appointments as Technical Director and Chief Technology Officer for a multinational security technology company, he now consults for key clients in X-ray, imaging and AI.
